The Emerald is the Birthstone for May. 

The emerald gemstone has a rich green the colour of spring. The emerald comes from the green variety of the beryl mineral.  Emerald hardness ranges between 7.5-8.0.

The emerald symbolises love and rebirth, when worn it heals mental and emotional causes of physical illness, it uplifts and revitalises the body making one open to a higher state of consciousness.

Emerald is also the 20th and 35th anniversary gemstone.
